Ingredients

1/4 c butter 1/4 c flour 1 c milk 1/2 tsp salt pepper to taste 1 1/2 lbs. large or jumbo shrimp, shelled and deveined lemon wedges for serving parsley leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Stir in flour and continue to stir until the mixture is bubbly. Pour in milk while whisking continually until the mixture thickens and comes to a boil. Add salt and pepper to taste. Reduce heat and simmer for about 5 minutes. Set Aside.

In a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat, add oil. When hot, add shrimp in a single layer and cook for about 2 minutes per side or until just cooked through. Do not overcook! Remove from heat and set aside.
